The challenge
Clinical, laboratory and payer information was spread across flat files, HL7, CCDs, EMR databases and other sources. Spreadsheet and SQL reporting required manual integration and reconciliation.
The solution
A microservices approach separated platform components. Clinical and payer data was transformed into a cloud data platform, with automated inbound and outbound files for reporting.
Technology & architecture
The existing project description identifies Snowflake, microservices, a web platform, self-service user management and single sign-on integrated with the customer’s directory.
Delivery approach
The work began with requirements for recurring reporting and data integration, followed by transformation, platform development, integration testing and automation testing.
Results
The platform connected previously fragmented information, supported repeatable reporting and provided patient-record access through a shared web experience. Self-service access and single sign-on reduced manual steps.
Reported project outcomes
- The existing case study reports data integration three times faster.
- It reports savings of at least USD 20,000 per month, equivalent to USD 240,000 annually.
These are the outcomes reported for this project in the existing IntellyLabs case study; results depend on the project and environment.
